Cavernous Malformation

A cavernous malformation is a cluster of abnormal and dilated blood vessels in the brain or spinal cord. These lesions have thin walls that can leak blood and lead to small hemorrhages over time. Symptoms vary and may include headaches, seizures, neurological deficits, or, in some cases, no symptoms at all.
Treatment Options
Cavernous malformations are often found incidentally on MRI scans or during evaluation for unexplained neurological issues. While some can be managed with monitoring, others require surgical removal, especially if they cause repeated bleeding or seizures. The right approach will depend on the severity of the malformation and its location.
